SUMMARY
The *Shipping Coordinator* is responsible for securing the best price and quality freight providers to ensure customers are getting the best rate available. This role will oversee booking and ongoing maintenance of all outgoing shipments until they arrive with the customer. The role will also assist in both the shipping and receiving department to send, accept and record the movement of parts, supplies, materials, equipment, and stock to and from vendors, customers, or within departments of the company itself.
Main duties:
· Communicate with relevant parties/departments to ensure production and shipping schedules are accurate and can be attained.
· Create and maintain a monthly shipping schedule for all units and maintain them daily.
· Book all unit freight and maintain pricing (shipping schedule) based on required completion and shipping dates.
· Create packing slips, border paperwork, DOT forms and obtain proper certification when needed.
· Quoting and understanding pricing for all aspects of shipments.
· Prepare packing lists, identifying information and other documents for outgoing products.
· Determine appropriate and efficient shipping instructions / methods for outgoing products.
· Track and trace shipments to provide updates, as needed.
· Assist with unpacking and routing goods to appropriate storage locations / bins.
· Maintain internal record-keeping system(s).
· Assist in preparing part crates and ensure the production department has required materials on time.
· Investigate and solve issues with missing, damaged, held up packages, border problems or lost company and customer goods.
· Other duties, as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Attendance, punctuality, and consistency are vital.
· Minimum two (2) years? experience in a full-time Warehousing or Shipping/Receiving role.
· Minimum one (1) years? experience scheduling and quoting freight.
· Strong computer skills. Experience with Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Must have a professional demeanor and superior customer service skills.
· Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks.
· Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Must be able to read and understand working drawings, BOM, shipping documents.
· Must be able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
· Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
· Valid forklift operator certificate preferred.
· Valid Class 5 BC driver?s license.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs or ladders.
· Occasionally required to kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach above and below the waist.
· Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. (occasionally more with assistance).
· Regularly visits to areas where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
· Occasional exposure to loud noises levels.
· Warehouse environment; indoors, but can be cold in winter, hot in summer.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.00-$29.00 per hour
