Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Urban area. Various locations. Transportation. Warehouse. Retail/wholesale establishment/distribution centre. Head office. Tasks: Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments. Perform routine clerical duties. Ensure accuracy of completed time sheets, payroll and other summaries. Ensure proper functioning of equipment. Maintain work records and logs. Monitor personnel workloads and locations. Organize warehouse and work areas. Perform general office duties. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Recruit and hire staff. Compile worksheets and specifications of orders. Prepare and maintain progress and other reports. Provide customer service. Train workers in duties and policies. Arrange training for staff. Conduct performance reviews. Co-ordinate, assign and review work. Advise vehicle operators of traffic and other problems. Dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders. Dispatch personnel as required by emergency situations. Follow-up on issues with work orders. Keep track of shipments. Maintain vehicle operator work records. Record mileage, fuel use, repairs and other expenses. Respond to urgent calls from individual who find themselves in life threatening situation and who require assistance . Schedule assignments and co-ordinate activities of vehicle operators, crews and equipment. Organize and maintain inventory. Establish work schedules and procedures. Supervision: Dispatchers and radio operators. More than 20 people. Shippers and receivers. Transportation route and crew schedulers. Staff in various areas of responsibility.
