Job details
The Sales Associate is responsible for assisting customers with their purchasing questions and to assist them throughout their buying process, including demonstrating product, discussing options, relaying product information, etc. They are responsible for dealing with customer complaints and issues that may arise from the sales process.
The Sales Associate?s responsibilities consist of the following:
* Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
* Assess customers? needs and provide assistance and information on product features.
* Welcome customers to the store and / or answer phones and handle customer queries.
* Manage and process online sales.
* Take and process special orders, which may include being assigned to handles specific types of special orders (kitchens, garages, window and doors, etc.)
* Follow and achieve department?s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
* Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas.
* Actively seek out customers in store.
* Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options.
* Process POS (point of sale) purchases.
* Cross sell or upsell products as the opportunity arises.
* Handle returns of merchandise.
* Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service.
* Build productive trust relationships with customers.
* Comply with inventory control procedures, which may include updating pricing tags, organizing sections of the store and warehouse.
* Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the store?s design).
* Follow up on quotes.
* Double check customer loads.
* Close system orders.
* Perform other duties as required.
*Critical Attributes of the Sales Associate*
· Proficiency in English and basic math skills
· Demonstrated abilities in problem solving and customer service.
· Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
· Solid communication and interpersonal skills
· A friendly and energetic personality with a customer service focus.
· Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner.
*The ideal candidate will have a combination of the following:*
· Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Associate, Sales Representative or similar role.
· Hands on experience with POS transactions and inventory procedures.
· Available to work flexible shifts.
· High school degree; BS degree in Marketing or related field would be a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.60-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 ? 40 per week
Day range:
