Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Supermarket/grocery store. Tasks: Bag, box or parcel purchases for customers, for shipment or delivery. Carry customer's purchases to parking lot and pack orders in customers' vehicles. Obtain articles for customers from shelf or stockroom. Direct customers to location of articles sought. Unpack products received by store and count, weigh or sort items. Order stock. Stock shelves and display areas. Keep stock clean and in order. Price items using stamp or stickers according to price list. Perform general cleaning duties (i.e. sweeping, mopping floors). Operate cash register. Order picking. Provide customer service. Support for newcomers and refugees: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees. Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.). Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) . Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Support for youths: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment. Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people. Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers .
