Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Building construction materials. General manufacturing. Troubleshooting/diagnostic. Tasks: Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Inspect assemblies for alignment, symmetry, dimensions, fit and quality of workmanship. Read blueprints to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Callipers. Calibre. Gauges. Verniers. Computer and technology knowledge: Mastercam CAD/CAM. Specialized machining processes: Laser beam. Instrument experience: Precision measuring instrument. Equipment and machinery experience: Single purpose production machine. Tapping machines. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Robotic equipment and systems. Computer-aided design (CAD). Area of specialization: Materials science. Mechanical engineering technology. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence.
