The Simcoe County District School Board is accepting applications <p>for the following position:<p>Summer Writing Contract: Course of Study, Grade 10 MPM2D <p>One position, 30 hours, to be completed by August 9, 2024<p>The successful candidates for the Summer Writing Contract will support the creation of a Mathematics Course of Study for Grade 10 MPM2D, including: ?designing resources for use in MPM2D classrooms;<p> ?creating new activities designed to support thin slicing, check your overall understanding, collaborative tasks, assessment tasks for observations and conversations, and thinking inquiry problem solving rich tasks which integrate multiple strands; Candidates will have a thorough understanding of the Grade 9 and 10 Ontario Mathematics curriculum and experience creating identity-affirming system-level mathematics instruction and assessment resources.<p>Successful applicants will be compensated at the Con-Ed Remedial Rate $46.50/hour <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS ?An Ontario Teachers Certificate of Qualification<p> ?A University Degree<p> ?Qualifications to teach in two divisions (Senior and Intermediate or Junior)<p> ?Mathematics teaching qualification (preferred)<p> ?Experience in creating identity-affirming, culturally relevant, and evidence-informed instruction and assessment resources<p> ?Five years secondary teaching experience (preferred)KEY COMPETENCIES OF THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT <p>Successful applicants for the First 20 Days of Math summer writing contract will have: ?thorough knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, Grades 9 and 10: Mathematics;<p> ?in-depth understanding of the High-Impact Instructional Practices in Mathematics and responsive instruction; <p> ?knowledge of Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy (CRRP) and anti-oppressive pedagogy;<p> ?knowledge of mental health literacy strategies to support student mental health;<p> ?a repertoire of effective evidence-informed instructional strategies to engage students in learning;<p> ?in-depth knowledge of assessment, evaluation and reporting;<p> ?experience working in collaboration with colleagues;<p> ?an ability to align professional learning with system priorities;<p> ?excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; and<p> ?Growing Success Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting in Ontario Schools (1-12); Ontario Schools Policy and Program Requirements (K-12);<p> School Effectiveness Framework A support for school improvement and student success (K-12);<p> Learning for All A Guide to Effective Assessment and Instruction for All Students (K-12);<p> Creating Pathways to Success, An Education and Career/Life Planning Program for Ontario Schools: Policy and Program Requirements (K-12); and<p> Ontario First Nation, Metis and Inuit Education Policy Framework 2007.
