The Simcoe County District School Board is accepting applications for the following position:<p>Summer Writing Contract: Well-being and the First 20 Days of Mathematics, Grades 1-8 Revisions <p>20 hours to be completed by August 12, 2022<p>The successful candidate to the Summer Writing Contract will work collaboratively with a team of educators to ensure the tools below are created with a focus on mental health and well-being, specifically : ?Revise the First 20 Days of Mathematics, Grades 1-8 resources, including slide decks, look fors, number routines and educator resources and notesCandidates will have system-level expertise related to the development of evidence-informed resources and professional learning related to mental health and well-being.<p>Successful applicants will be compensated at the Con-Ed Rate $46.50/hour<p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS ?An Ontario Teachers Certificate of Qualification<p> ?A University Degree<p> ?Qualifications to teach in two divisions (primary/junior or junior/intermediate preferred)<p> ?Mathematics teaching qualification (an asset)<p> ?District or system level experience in an equity-related role (preferred)<p> ?Five years elementary teaching experience (preferred)KEY COMPETENCIES OF THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT <p>Successful applicants for the First 20 Days of Math summer writing contract will have: ?in-depth knowledge of School Mental Health Ontario evidence-informed strategies to support student mental health;<p> ?knowledge of Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy (CRRP), identity-affirming and anti-oppressive pedagogies;<p> ?knowledge of the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum, Grades 1-8;<p> ?a repertoire of effective evidence-informed instructional strategies to engage students in learning;<p> ?in-depth knowledge of assessment and evaluation <p> ?experience using a variety of digital tools to support online instruction, assessment and student engagement;<p> ?experience working in collaboration with colleagues;<p> ?excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; and<p> ?Growing Success Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting in Ontario Schools (1-12); Ontario Schools Policy and Program Requirements (K-12);<p> Ontarios English Language Learners, ESL and ELD Programs and Services, 2007;<p> Ontario First Nation, Metis and Inuit Education Policy Framework 2007;<p> Capacity Building Series Culturally Responsive Pedagogy, 2013; <p> Ontarios Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy, 2009.<p> School Effectiveness Framework A support for school improvement and student success (K-12);<p> Learning for All A Guide to Effective Assessment and Instruction for All Students (K-12);<p> Creating Pathways to Success, An Education and Career/Life Planning Program for Ontario Schools: Policy and Program Requirements (K-12); andRESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT <p> The successful applicant will ?work collaboratively as a member of the First 20 Days of Math for Grades 1-8 writing team to create identity-affirming, culturally responsive, anti-oppressive resources to engage all students in mathematics while building a sense of belonging and confidence.Applications will be received through the Apply to Education Website (www.applytoeducation.com) until 4 pm on June 12, 2024.
