The Alberta Real Estate Association (AREA) is the provincial professional organization that represents the interests of 10 regional real estate boards/associations and more than 10,500 REALTORS® province-wide.
Based in Calgary, the association?s mission is to provide strategic leadership through AREA?s member-centric advocacy, professional development and provincial services to advance the Alberta real estate profession and our members? success.
*AREA will consider employee and independent contractor applicants for this role.*
*Key Responsibilities: *
* Research economic issues such as consumer demand and sales
* Collect and analyze market trends to build forecasts and economic models
* Analyze collected data by using software, statistics, and mathematical models
* Study the economic impact of legislation, laws, and regulations
* Advise on solutions to economic problems for the organization, membership, government or think tank
* Create and conduct surveys and collect the data
* Communicate data in the form of presentations, technical reports, and non-technical reports
* Provide advice and consultation related to economics to businesses, private, and public organizations, stakeholders, and government agencies
* Develop economic procedures and plans which are used in formulating policies
*Qualifications:*
* Master?s degree in economics, business management or other related field
* Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience
* Strong experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods and analyses
* Proven experience writing clear and concise reports, briefs, and presentations
* Proficiency in spoken and written English (additional languages an asset)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
*Required Knowledge & Skills:*
* Excellent oral and written communications skills
* Proven experience writing clear and concise reports, briefs, and presentations
* Self-motivated, driven and professional; takes pride in taking ownership and responsibility of tasks
* Works well both independently and as a team
* Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
* Applies critical thinking and problem solving skills to ambiguous situations and anticipates business needs accordingly
* Proactively identifies and acts upon opportunities to streamline processes for continuous improvement
* Exercises a high level of discretion and confidentiality with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
* Demonstrated thoroughness, accuracy, and attention to detail
* Customer service orientated with the ability to fulfill responsibilities using a supportive, helpful approach
This is a part-time position (15-20 hours per week) and this role may be eligible for a hybrid work program.
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 ? 20 per week
