Spanning over 7,000 square kilometers, across diverse rural and urban communities in southeastern Ontario, KPR serves the Municipality of Clarington, Northumberland and Peterborough Counties, and City of Quinte West/Murray Ward.<p>The Board is situated on the traditional territory of the Michi Saagiig Anishinaabeg people, serving three vibrant Indigenous communities which include Alderville First Nation, Curve Lake First Nation and Hiawatha First Nation.<p>Today, the Kawartha Pine Ridge school district is home to many First Nations, Mtis and Inuit peoples and we acknowledge the contributions and accomplishments of all Indigenous people across Turtle Island, current and throughout history.<p>All positions in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board support the schools priority of student achievement and the Boards mission to educate our students to excel in learning, to succeed in life and to enrich our communities.<p>POSITION SUMMARY: <p>All positions in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board support the schools priority of student achievement and the Boards mission to educate our students to excel in learning, to succeed in life and to enrich our communities.<p>Employees demonstrate empathy and respect in all interactions, are committed to service excellence, and embrace change through innovation.The purpose of the Maintenance I - Plumber position is to provide plumbing services to the system.<p>MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Installs, inspects, maintains and repairs drinking water treatment and backflow prevention equipment, performing routine inspection test procedures and testing for microbiological parameters in drinking water.<p> Investigates, identifies and rectifies problems such as leaks, blockages, and inadequate supply or faulty operation of water, heating, sewer, gas and air lines. <p> Plans, installs, repairs, replaces and maintains copper, steel, cast iron, plastic, glass and clay piping systems and plumbing fixtures. <p> Rebuilds circulating pumps on the heating, cooling water distribution and fire standpipe systems. <p> Assesses identifies and recommends makes recommendations to Supervisors assessment of items to be included in maintenance budgets for normal repair and energy conservation. <p> Responds to emergency calls regarding water treatment equipment failures, plugged sewers, pipe ruptures and heating failures. <p> Liaises with head custodians and principals and contractors in doing repairs and maintenance and meets with and monitors actions of contractors providing services to the Board.<p> Performs preventative maintenance on all plumbing systems and mechanical units as directed.<p> Inventories supplies to stock the department.<p> Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent.<p> Certification of Qualification Plumbing.<p> Certificate to test back flow prevention devices.<p> 6 months to 1 year experience.SPECIALIZED SKILLS REQUIRED: Small water system operator license would be an asset.<p> Blueprint reading skills would be an asset.<p> Valid drivers license and use of own vehicle.<p> Skills in CO2 liquid pipe freezing would be an asset.<p> Basic electrical experience would be an asset.<p> A commitment to service excellence.<p> Applicants will be required to undergo a Functional Abilities Assessment to determine their ability to perform the physical aspects of the job.You will be asked below to answer whether or
