Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Manufacture. Tasks: Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment. Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks. Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade web server hardware and software. Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software. Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records. Research and apply meta-data to Websites and register Websites with search engines. Respond to requests for help and information from Website visitors and Website designers. Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations. Supervision: No supervision responsibility. Computer and technology knowledge: Development and operations (DevOps). JavaOS. Networking software. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Attention to detail.
