Education: Master's degree. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Electrical or electronic equipment manufacturing. Manufacturing and industrial plant. Oil and gas industry. Engineering firm. Natural gas distribution. Electrical products manufacturing company. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Supervise technicians, technologists, programmers, analysts and other engineers. Prepare material cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications. Design electrical and electronic components, systems and equipment. Supervise and inspect the installation and operation of electrical and electronic systems and equipment. Develop maintenance and operating standards for electrical and electronic systems and equipment. Investigate electrical or electronic failures. Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for construction or maintenance. Commission systems and components. Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems. Install and maintain meters and regulators and gas lines between gas unit and gas meter. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Computer and technology knowledge: Business intelligence. SolidWorks software. AutoCAD. Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Networking hardware. Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system. MS Project. MS Windows. Types of systems: Compressors. Equipment and machinery experience: Electrical wiring devices. Gas compressors. Area of work experience: Business administration/management. Design.
