The IT Solution Developer reports to the IT Manager. You'll need to possess excellent Synon and RPG language skills, a strong analytical mind, and be comfortable talking face to face with the business to work on projects and solve problems on the fly. We value a strong relationship with our business partners and that needs to be a core value for the successful candidate.This position requires not only experience but a working familiarity with the IBM AS400. Must be able to gather and document requirements and make proposals for enhancements. Must be able to work with other team members to share knowledge and understanding of existing systems and processes.The willingness to work on older technology is an important trait. The successful candidate will be able to support AS400 software applications within the Bank developed in past years with noticeable changes in programming technology. AS400 analysis skills are required as well as the motivation to solve real business needs with older technology. Although the AS400 is the primary development platform a minimum proficiency is required for all general business tools like Microsoft Office.A certain degree of capital markets knowledge is expected, specifically in the fixed income and funding process, but you can expect to learn a lot more on the job, working with developers, business analysts, and of course our business partners.Meaningful work is fueled by meaningful performance and career development conversations with your manager. Here's some of what you may be asked to perform:The candidate's responsibilities include analysis, design, development, testing, documentation and implementation. Weekend work is required for new implementations and rollouts, as well as rotating on-call duties for level 3 support.Design and develop quality solutions for program/system issues consistent with project objectives and client requirements, and follow technology architecture standardsConduct program/ system research, analysis, design and problem resolutionEnsure defect free programming by testing and debugging using available/appropriate tools and participate in reviewing peer codingParticipate in identifying and recommending development/testing solutions
