Job details
Elmhirst?s Resort is an all season, cottage resort and conference/wedding facility located on Rice Lake, (approximately 25 minutes from Peterborough). We have a farm on site where we raise our own, ducks, beef, and turkeys for use in our food service operations. Elmhirst?s Resort is a firm believer in sustainability and practicing responsible stewardship of the land and water that is so important to our business and community.
Pastry Chef Responsibilities:
-Preparing desserts and baked goods for restaurant and banquet operations
-Assisting the head chef and Food & Beverage Director with menu planning with regards to desserts, breads and other baking
-Ensuring the kitchen is equipped with fresh baked breads as needed
-Contributing to the general cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen
-Assisting with inventory & ordering
-Development and packaging of farm store products as needed
-Procurement of specialty items as needed
-Ensure that all products and menu items come out in a high quality and timely fashion
-Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
-Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
-Teaching other team members pastry skills
-Other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
-Current food handler?s certification
-Minimum 2 years baking experience in any environment
-Able to work standing for 8 hours
-Able to lift approx. 50 lbs
-Formal baking education an asset but not required

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 ? 40 per week
