Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Provide consultative services regarding issues relevant to nursing profession and nursing practice. Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas. Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher. Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse. Supervise patients' exercise routines. Serve meal trays and feed patients. Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving and sterilizing operative areas. Make beds and maintain patients' rooms. Maintain inventory of supplies. Supply and empty bed pans. Weigh, lift, turn and position patients. Deliver messages, reports, requisitions and specimens between departments. Transport patients between care facilities. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills.
