Located in Etobicoke, Ontario (QEW & Kipling), we are currently hiring a:
*Maintenance Mechanic*
This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to work at a busy mould manufacturer.
Responsibilities:
· Trouble shoot and maintain shop equipment, with CNC machines, pneumatic/hydraulic systems and components to ensure the efficient, safe operation of all machinery with the shortest downtime
· Perform preventative and predicative maintenance on all machinery for defects and potential problems, repair and replacing parts as required in timely manner
· Ensure any maintenance work & regularly conducted inspections on machines are properly documented and stored
· Read blueprints, diagrams, manuals and schematic drawings for equipment to determine work procedures
· Maintain lubrication and fluid levels of all machinery
· Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
· Share your information, experience and knowledge in maintenance with co-workers
· Maintain the safety standards of the equipment & work area by understanding safety procedures and demonstrating good safety consciousness
· Store equipment and tools properly when not in use
· Interact with outside contractors
Education/Skills/Experience:
· Grade 12 education or equivalent
· Minimum of 3 years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience with industrial machine/equipment repair
· Have strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
· Have knowledge and experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic tools and systems
· Have a working knowledge of electrical safety codes and CNC controls
· Work in a cost-effective manner maintaining quality workmanship while being flexible to changing working conditions and priorities
· Good communication (both oral and written in English) and interpretation skills enabling you to understand and explain technical issues
· Work in a safe manner, abiding by all health, safety, environmental, company and legal requirements
· Operate lifting equipment and able to work at heights
· Capable of physical activities such as bending down, crouching, kneeling, pulling or pushing, and lifting up to 30 pounds
· Have flexibility to work a variable schedule to accommodate maintenance demands
