*Type:* Full-Time 37.5 hr. per week.
*Location:* St. John?s, NL
*Reports to:* Executive Director
*Anticipated Start Date: September 3-9th, 2024 *

Through our annual fundraising campaign each year, we support our province through our Community Fund granting process.
This job description outlines the primary duties and qualifications required for the position of Relationship and Development Officer. The role involves a mix of strategic planning, relationship management, and hands-on fundraising activities, making it ideal for individuals passionate about driving positive change through financial development and community engagement.
*Job Overview: *The Relationship and Development Officer is responsible for creating and implementing strategies to support the mission of the organization through fundraising activities, donor cultivation, funding opportunities, and community engagement. This role requires a dynamic and proactive individual who can foster strong relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders to support the organization?s mission and goals.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Fundraising Strategy Development/Annual Campaign:*
* Responsible for oversight of existing annual fundraising campaign, which includes working directly with volunteers to help coordinate and launch their workplace campaign, providing support and acting as the main point of contact.
* Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans that include individual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and special events.
* Set and achieve annual fundraising goals in collaboration with the ED.
* *Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:*
* Maintain and build relationships with current and prospective donors.
* Coordinate donor recognition and stewardship activities to ensure ongoing engagement and satisfaction.
* Prepare personalized communication materials such as thank you letters, impact reports, and updates.
* *Grant Writing and Management:*
* Research, identify, and apply for funding opportunities via existing partnerships, as well as external sources
* Write compelling grant proposals and manage the submission process.
* Track associate deadlines and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
* *Event Planning and Execution:*
* Assist in the planning and coordination of events, including logistics, budgeting, and promotion.
* Secure sponsorships and in-kind donations to support event goals.
* Evaluate event outcomes and provide recommendations for future improvements.
* *Database Management:*
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records using the organization?s database.
* Generate reports and analyze data to inform fundraising strategies and track progress toward goals.
* Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
* *Community Engagement:*
* Represent the organization at community events, networking functions, and meetings.
* Develop partnerships with local businesses, community groups, and other stakeholders.
* Promote the organization?s mission and programs through public speaking and presentations.
*Qualifications:*
*Education:* Bachelor?s degree, or post-secondary certificate/diploma from an accredited university, college or technical institute, in social sciences or a relevant discipline.
*Experience:* Minimum of 2 years of experience in the charitable sector, including fundraising and donor relations. Experience in event planning and community engagement is an asset.
