Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: At heights. Dusty. Noisy. Work setting: Commercial. Residential. Various locations. Work in employer's/client's home. Tasks: Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints. Clean and prepare surfaces. Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners. Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife. Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets. Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists. Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry. Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound. Estimate costs and materials. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms. Supervision: 3-4 people. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability. Flexibility. Judgement. Reliability. Team player.
