Every decision we make is based on how it will impact kids and families.<p>Position Overview The Winnipeg School Division is seeking a dynamic, deep thinking, and compassionate leader to join our team as the Assistant Superintendent of Staff Support and Relations. This key leadership role is responsible for creating a positive, supportive, and service-based Staff Support and Relations Department. A major focus of this position is on equity and truth and reconciliation, ensuring that our practices reflect our commitment to these values. The successful candidate will build a team that is focused on supporting schools and staff through genuine engagement while recruiting and onboarding talent.<p>Key Responsibilities <p> Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Staff Support and Relations Department, fostering a culture of positivity, support, and service excellence.<p> Develop and implement policies, programs, and initiatives that promote staff well-being, engagement, and satisfaction.<p> Lead the divisions efforts in equity, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring these principles are embedded in all practices and organizational culture.<p> Champion truth and reconciliation initiatives within the division, working to build meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities and incorporating Indigenous perspectives into our practices.<p> Oversee staff relations, including conflict resolution, employee support services, and professional development programs.<p> Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in human resources and staff support.<p> Collaborate with school leaders, teachers, staff, and other stakeholders to identify and address staff needs and concerns.<p> Provide mentorship and professional growth opportunities for personnel in the department.<p> Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of staff support programs and initiatives, using data to drive continuous improvement.<p> Represent the division in negotiations and labour relations matters, ensuring fair and equitable treatment of all staff.Qualifications <p> A minimum of a Masters degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.<p> Must have experience as a school principal.<p> Extensive experience in human resources, staff support, or a related area, preferably within the education sector.<p> Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a deep understanding of truth and reconciliation Calls to Action.<p> Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.<p> Proven ability to create and maintain a positive and supportive work environment.<p> Experience in conflict resolution and employee relations.<p> High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.<p> Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships.Why Join Winnipeg School Division <p> Be part of a forw
