Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Nursing home/home for the aged. Urban area. Tasks: Administer medications. Observe and record medication's therapeutic and side effects . Record medication's therapeutic and side effects observations in patient files. Take vital signs. Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures. Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team. Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas. Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher. Serve meal trays and feed patients. Make beds and maintain patients' rooms. Bathe, dress and groom patients. Answer call signals to determine patients' needs. Supply and empty bed pans. Weigh, lift, turn and position patients. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work. CPR Certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Adult Abuse Registry check. Vulnerable sector check. Transportation/travel information: Travel expenses not paid by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure.
