Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dietary Cook to join our team. As a Dietary Aide/Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for our patients/residents in a healthcare setting. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our patients receive nutritious and delicious meals that meet their dietary needs.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to specific dietary requirements and meal plans
- Ensure that all meals are prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following proper food handling and hygiene guidelines
- Collaborate with the dietary team to plan menus and ensure that meals are balanced and meet nutritional standards
- Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items and cleaning of equipment
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols in the kitchen
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in the food industry, preferably in a hospital or nursing home setting
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, including proper cooking temperatures and portion control
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients/residents and their families
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with other dietary staff members
- Basic understanding of special diets and dietary restrictions
