Develops and implements approved changes to FVRL?s Health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the strategic goals and applicable WorkSafe Legislation. Provides advice to management and staff in all Health and Safety related areas, including advice as to implementation of the Safety Program, policies and procedures.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY, SKILLSStrong in-depth knowledge and understanding of applicable OH&S legislation and regulations. Demonstrated knowledge of means and ability to develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders, Unions and regulatory agencies. Exceptional communication, presentation, facilitation and coaching skills. Demonstrated experience in managing a variety of WorkSafeBC claims. Extensive knowledge and skills in conducting OH&S related investigations, providing safety support to working with workplace hazards, violence, customer incidents, etc. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Meticulous attention to detail and ability to proactively follow through and resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner. Experience in project management. Demonstrated knowledge in OH&S analysis, and direct experience in developing / applying appropriate performance metrics, statistical methods, and reporting data. Proven ability to consume complex data and provide optimal analytics. Demonstrated experience working with external vendors. Strong organizational and document / record management skills. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficient with PC applications including MS Office.QUALIFICATIONSA university degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from a recognized post-secondary institution. Working towards CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation. Minimum 5 years of a demonstrated OH&S experience, preferably in an office environment. Experience working in a unionized environment is required. Valid B.C. Driver?s license (min. level ?N?) is required. This position is required to attend offsite meetings and will require the use of a vehicle.
