*Job Title: Certified Gardener Supervisor*
*Location:* Greater Toronto Area
*Overview:* Our Client is seeking a skilled and certified gardener supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in horticulture and landscaping, with proven leadership abilities to oversee and coordinate gardening operations effectively. This role requires a deep understanding of plant care, landscape design principles, and team management skills to ensure high standards of maintenance and aesthetic appeal.
*Responsibilities:*
* Supervise a team of gardeners and groundskeepers, providing guidance and instruction on tasks and procedures.
* Plan and schedule gardening activities, including planting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and pest control.
* Maintain and enhance landscapes, ensuring they are visually appealing and healthy.
* Monitor plant health and identify pest and disease issues, implementing appropriate treatments.
* Oversee the maintenance of gardening equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
* Collaborate with landscape designers and architects to execute plans and designs effectively.
* Manage inventory of plants, materials, and supplies, and ensure their proper use and storage.
* Train new team members on gardening techniques, safety protocols, and company policies.
* Enforce safety regulations and guidelines to create a safe working environment for the team.
*Requirements:*
* Proven experience as a gardener supervisor or similar role, with a minimum of 2 years in garden management.
* Certification in horticulture, landscape design, or a related field is required.
* Extensive knowledge of plant species, soil types, and gardening techniques.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a team.
* Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines and achieve desired outcomes.
* Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members.
* Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
* Proficiency in using gardening tools and equipment.
* Valid driver?s license and clean driving record may be required.[OD1]
