The development of the referrals process will be through a holistic Métis perspective that is centred on the distinctive rights of Métis people in BC. The Manager plays a key role in advocating for Métis interests and rights in BC. The development and ongoing implementation of the referrals process will develop and nurture mutually respectful relationships with Métis Chartered Communities, federal, provincial, and municipal levels of government, stakeholders, as well as other organizations and entities. This position will work within MNBC to update our Consultation Guidelines and create strong process-oriented engagement tables both internally and externally, working closely with our Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Food Security and the Ministry of Economic Development, Partnerships and Tourism.The Ministry of Rights is an independent ministry at MNBC that is expanding in responsibilities and capacity. The Ministry of Rights is evolving into a central service agency to lead and/or support other MNBC ministries in various capacities and roles. The Manager will work closely with the Director of Métis Rights, Negotiations, and Justice and the Senior Manager of Métis Rights to provide expert management and advice on this work in a collaborative manner.
