Our primary products out of this location are Wound Distributed Gap Cores, Mitre and Butt Lap Laminations, Logs and Fully Assembled Cores in our Flat Stack Department, Steel Sales, Custom Slitting and a warehousing for Tempel Steel?s laminations.
*Job Summary:*
* Plan and schedule DG and Steel Slitting production lines.
* Optimize material flow through effective utilization of production capacity, supplier capabilities, and product lead time as well as through leveraging outside capacity as needed. Using our Visual ERP system, recognize constraints of meeting customer needs and plan accordingly to maximize customer service and meeting shipping goals. Ensures that customer expectations and requirements are met; works to resolve conflicts concerning material internally.
* Work closely with Production, Materials, Engineering, Quality and Sales Management personnel to ensure balance between customer satisfaction and production capabilities
* Design and implement continuous improvement strategies for eliminating time waste and improving process flow.
* Production planning and overseeing budget capacities.
*Principle Duties & Responsibilities:*
* Manage machine and labor resources to ensure production flow.
* Create Work Orders as required by material and time constraints.
* Review and modify resources where necessary.
* Request ID Tooling based on customer order requirements.
* Schedule and manage down resources.
* Prioritize Orders targeting OTIF.
* Vet sales and work orders.
* Apply lean principles and techniques to improve the process and keep cost at a minimum.
* Ensure production flow is aligned with OTIF.
* Meet Daily Targets in production.
* Schedule Steel Slitting based on material requirements.
* Support Materials Co-Ordinator with material planning and pattern creation as required.
* Maintain production planning related data in Visual ERP Parts Maintenance and Eng Masters.
* Manage and maintain DG ID Tooling Inventory.
* Manage Steel Sales Consignment program.
*Required Qualifications:*
* 5-10 years manufacturing, planning, scheduling.
* Diploma / Degree / Certificate in areas related to manufacturing, industrial engineering technology or business preferred, or 5-10 years experience in similar role.
* Lean Manufacturing education
* Accountability and Leadership training
* High Proficiency with MS Office tools, and ERP/MRP computer systems
* Strong verbal, written and oral communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems.
* Project and team experience.
* Ability to work under tight time deadlines with changing priorities/requirements.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
* Experience with purchasing systems and inventory systems are critical.
