Read on!Position: Maintenance SupervisorJob Type: Full TimeSchedule: Monday-Friday (and weekends when required)Language Requirements: EnglishWorking Conditions: On-SiteLocation: Richmond, B.C.Purpose:The Maintenance Supervisor will work cross-departmentally to ensure the Sanitation and Maintenance schedules are being adhered to at all times. Proactively makes recommendations for improvements so that UNFI can remain in compliance with legislation and internal policies. Contributes to maintaining a clean, safe and healthy working environment with minimal business interruptions.Qualifications:Develops and maintains Preventative Maintenance schedules for all areas of the UNFI Concord facility (Both Offices and Warehouse). Negotiates annual maintenance contracts with support from General Manager & Regional Director Maintains systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts. Updates and keeps all maintenance records in the RTA database.Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.Develops and manages sanitation schedules for all areas of the facility. Manages stock of supplies (cleaning, warehouse and safety supplies).Coaches, trains and develops Sanitation Staff.Participates as a member of the JHSC (Joint Health and Safety Committee). Meets maintenance financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions. Performs other handyman functions as necessary to maintain/improve the facility. Leads the development and implementation of the Food Safety Plan; Oversees the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the current SQF Code/SFCR; Takes appropriate action(s) to maintain the integrity of the current SQF Code/SFCR; Communicates to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of current SQF Code/SFCR Ensures HACCP and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures are understood and followed by associates in facility. Participates as a member of the HACCP Team. Performs other job duties as required.Qualifications:Education/ Certifications:Post-Secondary education in a related technical trade.Experience:5+ years of Maintenance experience preferably in a food distribution environment. 5+ years of people/labour management experience. Previous experience in customer service and developing budgets.Lift truck and Scissor lift license with previous working experience. System Implementation preferred.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Strong technical knowledge of equipment maintenance and electronics with ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.Working knowledge of budgeting, strategic planning. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Understanding of overhead, margin and company profitability.Strong leadership and management skills. Ability to lead, coach, inspire, motivate and train associates. Innovative, forward thinker, able to anticipate issues/opportunities; work through obstacles and potential roadblocks and offer creative solutions.
