<p><p>Summary:<p>Lunchroom<p>Supervisors work under the direction of the Principal of the school to which<p>they have been appointed. Lunchroom Supervisors shall be responsible for<p>supervising students who remain on the school grounds over the lunch hour<p>recess. The Principal shall determine the time period during which the<p>lunchroom supervisor will be employed. <p>Duties:<p>1.<p>Lunchroom Supervisors support students in various classroom settings to provide<p>lunch break supervision on a daily or supply basis. <p>2.<p>Supervising the setting-up and removal of lunch room equipment.<p>3.<p>Supervising the disposal of lunch refuse in suitable containers and the general<p>cleaning of the lunch room areas.<p>4.<p>Dealing with discipline problems in a manner prescribed by the Principal and<p>reporting significant disciplinary actions to the Principal or his/her<p>designate.<p>5.<p>Carrying out such noon hour supervision duties as the Principal may assign.<p> <p>Qualifications:<p> We're<p>looking for lunchroom supervisors with the following skills and qualities:<p>?<p>Experience working with children<p>?<p>Ability to ensure the safety and security of students<p>?<p>Ability to communicate with staff, students and parents<p>?<p>Willingness to work with students with different needs and capabilities<p>?<p>Ability to work as a team player<p>?<p>Proven record of attendance and punctuality<p>?<p>Demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work<p>environment<p> <p>Where are lunchroom supervisors needed?<p>The Durham District School Board (DDSB) is responsible<p>for public education in the rural settings of Uxbridge, Brock and Scugog<p>Townships and the urban settings of Ajax, Whitby, Pickering and Oshawa.<p>With 132 elementary and secondary schools and learning<p>centres, the Board accommodates more than 70,000 regular day students.<p> <p>How much time is involved?<p>Lunchroom<p>supervisors will generally work approximately 1-2 hours per day (or more<p>depending on the school's requirements) during the school year from September<p>to June.<p> <p>How you can apply?<p>Since<p>this is a casual position that works daily or on-call, on a day-to-day basis<p>during the school year (September to June), lunchroom supervisors must live<p>within a reasonable distance to the school.<p>Lunchroom<p>supervisors are hired by schools directly.
