*JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
The Accountant manages the daily financial processes for the Agency, processing a high-volume of accounts payable/receivable. You support financial health of the Agency by ensuring accuracy in inputting accounts payable and general ledger transactions. You work collaboratively with the Director of Finance and Reporting, and other senior leaders, supporting budgeting and reporting activities. The Accountant will:
* Prepare bank reconciliations, prepare and enter journal entries
* Reconcile key accounts
* Review, maintain and process accounts payable and receivable
* Prepare and pay Employer Health Tax, Workplace Safety & Insurance Board premiums, pension remittances and federal payroll deductions
* Prepare and submit HST rebates
* Complete General Ledger reconciliations
* Follow licensing, supplier and government policies and procedures to ensure compliance
* Order, record, and reconcile gift cards
* Follow up on past due receivables and discrepancies with vendors and/or funders
* Prepare year-end government summaries, T4?s, and T4-A?s as required
* Ensure effective processing of client-related expenditures (i.e., rent supplements, employment supports)
* Assist with submission of financial and statistical reports to multiple funders
*Hours of work:* 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday days, with some flexibility to meet deadlines

Annual salary: Starting at $59,066, plus comprehensive benefits

*REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS*
* Diploma or degree specializing in Accounting or Finance
* Professional accounting designation an asset
* Minimum of 3 years? experience in Bookkeeping/Accounting/Finance, preferably in the non-profit sector
* Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite Skills with high proficiency in Excel
* Familiarity with Adagio software and/or knowledge of Accounting Standards for non-for-profit agencies are assets
* Must have access to reliable transportation, as some travel may be required
