*Position Title:* Maintenance Mechanic/Tool and Die Maker
*What a typical day look like:*
*Maintenance Mechanic*
* Reassembles machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
* Perform troubleshooting and repair to equipment.
* Operate a variety of equipment, including forklift, hand and power tools related to work performed or assigned; repair, maintain and assure equipment is in safe and proper working condition; inspect or tests damaged machine parts.
* Collaborates with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
* May be involved with workstation layouts and set up for improvements pertaining to ergonomics and productivity.
* Maintenance of fire extinguishers, exit lights, lift truck batteries, dust collector, overhead doors, etc.
* Perform other duties as required.
*Tool and Die*
* Provide ideas and input to Engineering Department on tooling/design alternatives for unique or difficult jobs. Help troubleshoot small tooling problems.
* Complete any work required on track sheet and ensure that all inspection sheets are correct.
* Make sure that all logbooks and PMs are up to date.
* Perform set-ups as required.
* Develop new dies; make changes to meet and improve product capability.
* Responsible for maintaining tooling documentation (tooling history) up to the smallest detail.
* Hands-on approach to solving problems, able to work proactively and independently, ability to prioritize activities.
*Working Environment:*
* Requires the ability to exert physical effort and must be able to work within a fast-paced environment;
* Indoor and outdoor work environment.
* Able to work independently and with a team.
* Subject to noise from equipment operation.
* Be punctual for shifts.
*Technical Skills / Requirements:*
* High School Diploma.
* Experience in the maintenance trade is a strong asset.
* Experience with tool and die is required. Specifically working with stamping press? (metals).
* Lift truck, Scissor Lift and have Fall Arrest experience is an assets.
* Must be able to read, write, communicate and comprehend English.
* Able to read imperial/metric measurements.
* Have working knowledge of forklifts, machines, equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
* Experience with pneumatics, electrical and hydraulics.
* Experience with Preventive and Predictive Maintenance.
* Working knowledge of various hand tools, saws and other equipment.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
* Physically demanding; requires lifting capability of up to 50-60 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00-$29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
