TMV Control Systems is a growing company which designs and manufactures electronic control systems for locomotives. TMV is looking for an individual to perform software engineering for locomotive control systems. Some occasional travel (mostly USA) may be required.
TMV designs and builds our own computers and hardware for daily use in the harsh environment inside locomotives. Our product offering includes reliable Real-Time control systems and Human Machine Interface systems. These products are customizable based upon our customers? needs, which requires customized software. The authors of this software need an understanding of the Rail Industry norms, and must know the capabilities and limits of TMV?s systems.
The Role TMV is seeking to fill will require adapting and learning on the job. It is a challenging interdisciplinary role, which promises exposure to the Rail Industry and experience in networking, operating systems, and embedded electronics.
Job Description:
* Working closely with our team to develop new products and improve existing ones.
* Involvement in many aspects of assigned projects including: identifying requirements, prototyping, development, testing and troubleshooting.
* Writing documentation and procedures for customers and production staff.
* Ensuring code is written in a straightforward way and commented carefully to ensure maintainability.
* Actively seeking out review and critique of work.
Required Qualifications:
* A willingness to learn
* Knowledge and past experience programming in C
* Strong proficiency in English
Assets:
* Knowledge of Ethernet/Networking
* Experience in web development, Node, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
* Understanding of Electricity
This is a challenging job and will give a good exposure to computer control of modern and older diesel-electric locomotives.
