Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Legal firm. Tasks: Administer oaths and take affidavits and depositions. Prepare wills, real estate transactions and other legal documents, court reports and affidavits. Represent clients in small claims court and in other lower court proceedings, at tribunals and before administrative bodies. Research records, court files and other legal documents. Schedule court trials. Arrange pre-trial conferences and hearings. Assist lawyers in preparation for mediation and judicial dispute resolutions. Witness and certify the validity of signatures on documents. Draft legal correspondence. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office. MS Outlook. MS Word. MS Windows. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Large caseload. Large workload. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
