Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Instruct apprentices. Clean and prepare surfaces. Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings. Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets. Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices and trim. Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring. Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools. Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Support for newcomers and refugees: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees. Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.). Support for youths: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment. Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
