Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Cold/refrigerated. Outdoors. Wet/damp. Work setting: Private contractors. Urban area. Various locations. Tasks: Clean and maintain sidewalks, streets, roads and public grounds. Spread sand or salt on sidewalks for snow or ice control. Operate jackhammers and drills to break up pavement. Assist equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment or truck. Assist in routine maintenance and repair of equipment. Load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment. Sweep debris and remove snow from streets, sidewalks, building grounds and other areas, and load snow and debris into carts or trucks. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability. Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Judgement. Team player. Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?.
