<p><b>Valero Energy Inc.,</b> a leading renewable oil and diesel company, is seeking a Supervisor, <strong>Financial Reporting</strong> to join our team in downtown Montreal, located at McGill.</p><p><b>About the Position</b></p><p>Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting, the Financial Reporting Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, reconciliation, and quality control of financial reports for Valero's Canadian operations. This role involves preparing and designing the Canadian non-consolidated financial statements and supervising the Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting. In the absence of the Director, the Financial Reporting Supervisor will assume overall responsibility for the financial reporting department.</p><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly operational financial reports. Ensure the timely preparation of SEC forms 10Q and 10K.</li><li>Monthly Reconciliations: Serve as a resource person for the balance sheet reconciliation process, preparing and analyzing various account reconciliations.</li><li>Supervision: Oversee the month-end closing tasks performed by the Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting, ensuring timely completion.</li><li>Business Warehouse (BW): Validate the various databases and initiate necessary corrections.</li><li>Intercompany Accounts: Check, confirm, and analyze all intercompany accounts on a monthly basis.</li><li>Banking: Prepare bank reconciliations for all Canadian bank accounts.</li><li>Budget: Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget for administrative expenses.</li><li>Audit: Prepare and validate Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation.</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.</li><li>CPA accounting designation or actively working towards obtaining one.</li><li>Minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting role, ideally in finance.</li><li>Proven experience in financial analysis within a complex environment.</li><li>Proficiency with an integrated accounting system (preferably SAP) and Business Warehouse (BW).</li><li>Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to identify and resolve problems with minimal supervision.</li><li>Fluency in both English and French is essential.</li><li>A high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team, motivating team members.</li></ul><p><b>If you're interested, apply now and advance your career with us at www.totemtalent.ca or by sending your CV to f.pradon@totemtalent.ca.</b></p><p>Valero Energy Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
