Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques. Mountain driving expertise. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Drive tank trucks or supply trucks. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). FAST (Free and Secure Trade) Program. Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Documentation knowledge: Bill of lading. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Type of trucking and equipment: Liquid bulk. Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul. Short-haul. Security and safety: Valid passport. Bondable. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel cross-border. Willing to travel for extended periods.
