Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Dusty. Work setting: Installation. Service. Various locations. Tasks: Calculate heating and cooling loads. Design duct systems. Select equipment for residential and small commercial construction. Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Specialization or experience: Custom sheet metal items. Decorative metal sheets. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Overtime required. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
