Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Tasks: Compute dimensions, sizes, shapes and tolerances of workpieces . Inspect final products. Set up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders. Test prototypes and production tools. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Lay out, shape and assemble patterns of metal, wood, plastic and other materials from blueprints, models or templates. Position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining. Weigh resins, colorants and other chemicals according to formulae. Type of materials: Fibreglass. Tool and die fabrication experience: Jigs and fixtures. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Organized. Team player. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Do you have previous experience in this field of employment?.
