Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Instruct apprentices. Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Perform repair work on heavy trucks. Perform other routine maintenance. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Driver's License (Class 3 or D). Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel. Valid driver's licence. Travel expenses paid by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Overtime required. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Safety glasses/goggles. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Dependability. Flexibility. Judgement.
