Competition #: <p> # 14B - 2024- 2025 <p> Position: <p> Personal Attendant - .3929 FTE (2hrs & 45 mins) @ 34.12/hr<p> Education Assistant - .4285 FTE (2hrs & 59 mins) @ 26.34/hr <p> Description: <p> BCGEU <p> Location: <p> GWC Elementary School <p> Status: <p> Part Time Regular Appointment Total FTE .8215 <p> Commencement Date: <p> September 6, 2024 This assignment is to provide Personal Attendant and Educational Assistant services.Personal Assistants work to support priority students with more complex needs, including direct care such as mobility assistance, toileting/diapering, feeding, grooming, and dressing. Applicants should be prepared for the physical demands of the job, and willing to participate in the swimming program. Inclusive, patient, positive and supportive attitudes are key! Applicants should have a flexible and growth mindset and be able to identify and work with student strengths. Applicants must have a desire to learn a wide variety of skills to help students be successful in meeting their goals and being an integral part of the school community. Applicants must be willing to work with any assigned student in a variety of school settings.Education Assistants work to support our priority students with a variety of learning and/or social, emotional, and behavioural needs, as well as provide general supervision in the school. Applicants should have an inclusive, positive, and supportive attitude; be willing to learn; have a flexible and growth mindset; identify and work with student strengths; and a desire to help each student find a pathway to success. Applicants must be willing to work with any assigned student in a variety of school settings, and able to support students for success in all subject areas. May need to participate in swimming program. Qualifications: Secondary School graduation.<p> Previous experience in working with children.<p> Ability to organize work effectively.<p> Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.<p> Ability to handle and maintain all information with a high degree of confidentiality.<p> Equivalent combination of training and experience.<p> Familiarity with aboriginal culture is an asset.<p> Clear Criminal Record Check.
