Education: Bachelor's degree. Civil engineering, other. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Construction company. Tasks: Conduct environmental impact studies. Design and plan structural steel fabrications. Design and plan various types of dams. Plan and design bridges. Plan and design highway/roadway projects. Plan and design water and waste management systems. Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements. Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations. Establish and monitor construction work schedules. Interpret, review and approve survey and civil design work. Develop and implement health and safety plans. Plan and organize construction projects. Calculate crane capacities . Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Computer and technology knowledge: Primavera. AutoCAD. MS Office. MS Project. MS Excel. Area of work experience: Environmental assessment. Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury. Quality assurance or control. Project management. Management. Transportation specialization: Roads and highways. Bridges and overpasses. Area of specialization: Construction. Structural engineering.
