Learn more at www.adm.com.About the PositionThe ADM Windsor, Ontario, vegetable oil processing facility is seeking candidates for the position of Quality Control Technician.Normal work hours are 12 hour continental shifts.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEngaging in wet chemistry and handling chemicalsPrepare and process samples for analysis of:Raw materialsFinished feed products - soybean meal, canola meal, hullsFinished food products - edible oilPerform analytical testing using laboratory apparatus and record results using a computerized data systemDaily calibration of and some minor repairs of standard lab equipmentMaintain on-going records of all results from testing proceduresPerform daily monitoring tests throughout the facilityRetrieve samples from the production areaSkills and QualificationsDetail oriented and ability to multitask in a fast paced environmentExcellent communication skills - both oral and detailed written are needed to be effective in this positionExcellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple ongoing tasks and strive for continuous improvementGeneral knowledge of software systems such as Microsoft Office applications is an assetMust be able to work independently as well as with a teamMust have knowledge of applicable OHSA standards, GMP's, HACCP and other applicable feed and food safety standardsEducation or Work ExperienceThe candidate must have a three (3) year diploma in Chemical Engineering Technologist or equivalent/or 8-10 years of experienceAdditional InformationRegular, prompt attendanceMust be willing to work overtimeAbility to climb stairs, lift 25 pounds and sit and stand for long periodsAbility to complete Company sponsored training as requiredFollow ADM health and safety standard and report all unsafe acts or conditions to supervisorWork in accordance with local/provincial legislationUnderstands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements.All candidates must have authorization and the ability to maintain authorization to legally work in Canada. Relocation support is not available for this position.
