Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. Renovation. Residential. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Supervise other workers. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Personal protective equipment (PPE) training. Working at heights training. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Security and safety: Bondable. Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles.
