Our schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.<p>We are seeking a creative, dynamic, committed educators<p>for a one year Central LTO:<p>Secondary FSL Instructional Coach LTO <p> Responsibilities The focus of this position will be to continue the work of providing in-depth professional learning support for teachers and in-school leaders in the area of French as a Second Language and literacy. The work in this area will facilitate and support school-based, job embedded professional learning through the instructional coach model, classroom observations, co-planning and supporting teachers in the use of school and classroom level data to inform daily practices.<p>Under the direction of the System Principals in Curriculum Services, the Instructional Coach FSL will: <p> collaborative and support the transition to destreamed core French and French Immersion; <p> provide ongoing support for the development and collaboration of scope and sequence in core French and French Immersion; <p> provide ongoing school-embedded professional learning support, through collaborative inquiry, as an Instructional Coach focusing on FSL and needs identified in the School Improvement Plan for Student Achievement (SIPSA); modeling best practices, co-planning learning goals/success criteria/lessons, observing student learning and debriefing using authentic samples of student work; <p> provide ongoing network support to teachers as an Instructional Coach in curricular areas identified in the BIPSA; <p> support the Student Success initiative in developing strategies to meet student needs; <p> contribute to the development and implementation of the annual BIPSA to support student success aligned with Ministry and District directives; <p> work collaboratively with teacher leads and department heads to facilitate professional learning in the area of FSL in schools through collaborative inquiry, workshop and committee settings in matters related to instructional strategies, curriculum, assessment OF/FOR/AS learning, evaluation and reporting, Common European Framework of Reference and action oriented tasks; <p> work collaboratively with schools to build capacity in culturally relevant and response pedagogy, universal design and differentiated instruction; <p> provide support and collaboration for assessment and evaluation practices; <p> organize teacher professional development on instructional strategies, the use of data to inform daily practice, critical thinking strategies, curriculum policy documents and assessment OF/FOR/AS learning; <p> coordinate and facilitate the use of large-scale assessment data to support classroom instruction and improve student learning, and to promote evidence informed decision-making; <p> promote teaching methodologies and instructional strategies that improve student learning, engagement, well-being and achievement; <p> support the implementation of OCDSB assessment and evaluation policies and procedures; <p> work both independently and as a contributing member of the Curriculum Services team in providing a broad range of support services to teachers and in-school leaders; and, <p> develop and implement inclusionary practices within the OCDSB. <p>Please Note: responsibilities of Instructional Coaches may be reassigned periodically due to evolving
