Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Confined spaces. Noisy. Dusty. Hot. Clean. Tasks: Load, unload and transport construction materials. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs. Perform routine maintenance work. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems. Prepare and install hardwood floors. Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets. Maintain work records and logs. Install door, window and other hardware. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Clean and maintain equipment. Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required. Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings. Supervision: Window installers. Tilesetters. Surface preparation experience: Drywall taping/patching. Construction specialization: Residential. Roofing. Area of specialization: Painting. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure.
