Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dusty. Hot. Odours. Tasks: Check proper thickness of plating using micrometers, callipers or other devices. Clean and maintain equipment. Operate and control: electroplating equipment to coat metal, hot-dip metal plating equipment to galvanize metal and/or spray equipment to build up worn or damaged parts. Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes. Prepare and mix metallizing solutions according to formulas or specifications. Select appropriate paint or mix paints. Tend automatic metal coating machines which convey objects through a series of cleaning, rinsing and plating solutions. Tend or operate equipment to spray or coat. Equipment and machinery experience: Metal spray equipment. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Organized. Reliability. Team player.
