Our schools are dispersed geographically and range in size and composition:-13 elementary schools<p>-1 middle school<p>-1 K-10 school<p>-4 secondary schools<p>-2 K-12 schools<p>-online learning and blended programs<p>-an extensive array of program options, including Aboriginal Education, Late French Immersion, Outdoor Programs, and a strong International Program.The annual pay range for a full time teacher is $61,522 to $108,126, with placement on the range based on experience and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.Jewett Elementary in Meadow Creek BC is looking for a flexible, dynamic, and creative classroom teacher for the 2024-25 school year. We are anticipating an enrollment of 15 students grades K-5, with the majority being primary aged. Our school prides itself on being outdoor oriented, with an extensive forest learning environment adjacent to the school and a vibrant learning garden as well. At the same time, students have a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy, with an emphasis on themes related to the natural world, sustainability, and food security. The awarded applicant will have recent demonstrated successful experience working with elementary aged learners in a classroom teaching role. They will have strong classroom management skills, be an excellent communicator, have a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote or rural environment. Applicants are also encouraged to have recent trauma informed schools training. The successful applicant will be innovative, creative, and focused on effective educational practices in a rural multi-age classroom. They will continually strive to improve pedagogy in a changing educational environment. A solid understanding of current assessment practices, and strategies for effective home-school communication, would be an asset.
