The Surrey School District team of approximately 13,000 employees works tirelessly every day to ensure that children are getting the best start they can, providing the preparation to be our leaders of tomorrow. <p>On-Call Child and Youth care workers are required to be available Monday-Friday for a variety of school and district office assignments, and will be eligible to apply for internal positions as they become available. You could be asked to work in any one of our schools or district offices, reaching all borders of Surrey and White Rock. All successful applicants are required to join CUPE Union Local 728. As per the CUPE collective agreement the wage for this position is $36.37 per hour plus benefits and pension.<p>Child and Youth Care Workers work collaboratively with teachers, counsellors, school administrators and other allied professionals in support of learner success. Child and Youth Care Workers assist in the delivery of programs and services to students identified as experiencing behavioural challenges, sometimes with additional learning difficulties. Although responsibilities vary from site to site, the Child and Youth Care Workers duties within the school setting include supporting the development of learner social-emotional well-being via, in part, the implementation of positive behaviour support plans and the implementation of various programs and techniques promoting learner social skill development and positive self-image.<p> Education and Experience <p> Completion of a Child and Youth Care Program from a recognized program. <p> Qualified applicants can apply by clicking the "apply" button to the right of the posting.
