Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. Work site environment: Other miscellaneous crop farming. Hot. Odours. Harvest crops. Work setting: Rural area. Chemical application certificate or licence. Tasks: Consider water saturation, light and temperature when planning for crop growth and development. Direct agricultural crops deleafing activities. Greenhouse cleaning. Harvest seedlings. Mixing fertilizer. Maintain financial and production records. Supervise nursery and greenhouse workers. Perform routine chemical and physical tests of products. Maintain accurate records. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Enforce policies and procedures. Recruit, hire and supervise staff and/or volunteers. Identifying and investigating compliance issues. Organize planting, cultivating and crop harvesting activities. Direct agricultural crops clipping activities . Coordinate planting and cultivating activities. Supervision: 5-10 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Pesticide Applicator's Licence. Equipment and machinery experience: Automated irrigation system. Fertilizer applicator. Sprayer or duster. Manufacturing sector experience: Agricultural chemicals. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Area of specialization: Nursery or greenhouse. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Large workload. Manual dexterity. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
