Adult English as a Second Language Night Instructor-LTO CLB 5 & 6 The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board is recruiting an adult ESL and LINC night instructor to teach in a non-credit ESL and LINC class at our Hill Park site in a temporary assignment. Summary: <p>Reporting to the ESL/LINC Program Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible to instruct English as a Second Language to CLB 5 and 6 learners. A candidate is needed for Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:23pm to 8:30pm commencing September 10, 2024 until June 19, 2025. Base Wage: $35.90 or according to the OSSTF ESL Collective Agreement Qualifications: Current TESL Ontario Certification (OCELT) is required.<p> Completion of CLB Bootcamp and Introduction to PBLA from the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks (recommended within 6 months of hire into casual pool and required for hire into a permanent day or night position)<p> Knowledge and experience with the Canadian Language Benchmarks<p> Knowledge and /or application of Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA)<p> Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively with teaching colleagues, administrative staff, and the management team<p> Excellent practice and knowledge in the principles of adult learning<p> Demonstrated experience using Learning Management Systems<p> Demonstrated experience using technology as a teaching and learning tool<p> Excellent communication and cross-cultural skills To apply: <p>Submit a letter of application and resume outlining how your qualifications, professional development and experience relate to this job opportunity.
