General Summary of Job:
Woodley Acres is an established 24/7/365 petcare facility providing exceptional petcare to pets and their families. Offering a variety of services to our clients including overnight care, a dog daycare program and basic grooming services, we will continually raise the bar for expectations as they relate to petcare in our community.
The General Manager reports to the directors/shareholders of the company. He/she is primarily responsible for the overall performance of the assigned service location including but not limited to daily operations and financial performance of the facility. They maintain, monitor and establish the standards of service for all areas of service including supervising staff in performance of assigned duties. The General Manager also has a responsibility for administrative support, departmental meetings, supplier relations and overall care and maintenance of the facility. The General Manager will address and deal with customer feedback or complaints and ensure that customers have a unique and positive experience with Woodley Acres.

Primary Duties:
Assume overall responsibility for the operation and financial performance of Woodley Acres Pet Resort and provides love and care for between multiple pets at any time.
* Implement and maintain service standards and training programs for the organization.
* Proactively contributes and supports the organization's mission, vision and values through leadership and professional development.
* Develop and maintain a strategy to guide the organization by ensuring co-operation across individuals, departments and locations. Create and maintain operating procedures for assigned areas.
* Monitor and report out on organizational and departmental performance against goals and take corrective action when necessary, including implementing cost-savings and revenue generating plans as required.
* Provide vision and leadership to staff members and encourage the growth and financial viability of the company.
* Provide written and verbal reports on organizational activities on an ongoing basis, and on request.
* Allocate materials, human and financial resources to implement organizational and departmental policies and programs; establish financial and administrative controls; formulate and approve promotional campaigns; and execute overall human resources planning.
* Schedule staff and work activities for a team of 5 -20 persons ensuring client and animal care services are provided in compliance with company procedures.
* Supervise, and provide advice, support, guidance, and direction to staff; monitor the performance of staff on an on-going basis, conduct annual performance reviews and/or monthly one-on-one sessions, issue performance management and terminate staff as required.
* Create and maintain staff training program in service areas. Ensure all staff complete orientation and other general staff training programs timely.
* Oversee interviewing and hiring in accordance with employment laws/company procedures and proper documentation of new employee files.
* Liaise with outside vendors and negotiate over service prices/contracts.
* Answer customer questions regarding policies and procedures; handle customer complaints and comments. Address and troubleshoot problems and concerns. Recommend changes as needed to established client policies and monitor for effectiveness.
