*JOB SUMMARY:*
The *Millwright Journeyperson* is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment critical to the corrugated manufacturing process, including corrugators, die cutters, flexo folder gluers, and other specialized converting equipment. Reporting to the Production Manager, this position requires a highly skilled individual with a strong mechanical background who can effectively ensure the efficient and safe operation of all production equipment. The Millwright Journeyperson will collaborate with internal and external teams to maximize machine uptime, support continuous improvement initiatives, provide technical training, and uphold stringent safety standards across the plant.
*RESPONSIBILTIES:*
*1. Preventative Maintenance & Emergency Repairs *_(Weighting 45%)_
_*Preventative Maintenance*_
* Develop and implement robust preventive maintenance programs tailored to corrugated production equipment. Responsibilities include:
* Utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to schedule and track regular maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, inspections, and component replacements for corrugators, rotary die cutters, and other converting machinery.
* Conducting routine inspections and monitoring equipment condition to identify wear, tear, and potential failures before they impact production.
* Performing necessary adjustments and repairs during inspections, including the calibration of feed rollers, belt conveyors, and automated cutting systems.
* Maintaining detailed logs of all maintenance activities to comply with internal protocols and industry regulations, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and uptime.
* Working with the engineering team to optimize preventive maintenance schedules based on real-time equipment performance data.
_*Emergency Repairs*_
* Provide rapid, effective response to equipment breakdowns that threaten to disrupt corrugated production schedules. Key tasks include:
* Quickly diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems specific to corrugated machinery, using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
* Conducting immediate repairs, such as replacing bearings, drive belts, motors, or PLC components, to restore machinery functionality with minimal delay.
* Collaborating with the production team to communicate repair status, estimated downtime, and alternative solutions to minimize impact on output.
* Documenting all repair activities, including fault analysis, parts used, and actions taken, to facilitate future maintenance planning and troubleshooting.
*2. Equipment Installation & Machine Calibration *_(Weighting 35%)_
_*Equipment Installation*_
* Oversee the installation and commissioning of new and replacement machinery, such as corrugators, flexo folder gluers, die cutters, and conveyor systems. Duties include:
* Interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings specific to corrugated machinery to ensure precise assembly, alignment, and integration into the production line.
* Coordinating with equipment vendors, suppliers, and in-house engineering teams to plan and execute installations without disrupting ongoing production activities.
* Verifying that all installations meet manufacturer specifications, safety regulations, and operational requirements for corrugated production.
* Conducting functional tests and quality checks to ensure new equipment is fully operational and meets performance standards.
_*Machine Calibration *_
* Regularly evaluate and adjust machinery settings to maintain optimal performance and product quality. Responsibilities include:
* Calibrating critical equipment components, such as anilox rolls, glue applicators, and precision cutting knives, based on performance data and product specifications.
